By 2028, 1 in 5 North Carolinians will be over the age of 65. Among these older adults, fifteen percent will not have reliable access to enough nutritious food on a regular basis. Nutritional deficiencies result in more than $140 million in annual costs related to disease-associated malnutrition among people over 65 in North Carolina.
